Claiming Your TENS Machine on Private Health

Did you know that you may be able to claim your TENS machine cost on your health insurance?

This will depend on your coverage and it is important that you reach out to your health insurance provider to confirm if you are covered and, if so, what for.

The item numbers you'll need to confirm your eligibility are 'TENSH' for hire and 'TENSP' for outright purchases. It's important for TENS Machine hires that you check with your health provider to see if they have a requirement for how many weeks you can hire your machine for, as some do have specific requirements.

Once you have confirmed your eligibility, you can go ahead and hire or buy your machine, and you'll be sent an invoice that has all the info you need. Once you’ve got the receipt, you can take it through the claims process with your health insurance provider.

We are even an approved BUPA provider now and are able to provide a tax invoice for all Australian health insurers, including all the information they need.
